Bora Bora's iconic lagoon is considered one of the most beautiful places on earth, Moorea offers dramatic mountain scenery and pristine coral gardens, and Tahiti serves as the cultural and culinary heart of the islands. Together they deliver a travel experience that simply has no equal.
French Polynesia's Most Spectacular Islands
Each island in French Polynesia has its own distinct personality — from the legendary lagoon of Bora Bora to the lush valleys of Moorea and the vibrant culture of Tahiti. Many visitors combine two or more islands for the ultimate French Polynesia experience.

Bora Bora
The jewel of French Polynesia — Bora Bora's turquoise lagoon, dramatic Mount Otemanu, and iconic overwater bungalows have made it the world's most romantic destination. Home to some of the most luxurious resorts on the planet, Bora Bora is the ultimate once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Moorea
Just 20 minutes by ferry from Tahiti — Moorea's jagged volcanic peaks, lush tropical valleys, and crystal-clear lagoon are breathtaking. Often called "the most beautiful island in the world," Moorea offers a slightly more laid-back atmosphere than Bora Bora with equally stunning scenery and excellent resort options.

Tahiti
The largest island and gateway to French Polynesia — Tahiti is where most international flights arrive. Beyond its role as a transit hub, Tahiti offers spectacular black sand beaches, dramatic waterfalls, the vibrant Papeete market, and excellent luxury resorts on its west coast.

Taha'a & The Outer Islands
For the ultimate in seclusion — Taha'a's vanilla plantations and pearl farms, Huahine's ancient marae temples, and the remote Tuamotu atolls offer a French Polynesia experience far from the crowds. Home to some of the finest private island resorts in the entire Pacific.
Experiences That Define Tahiti & Bora Bora
French Polynesia offers a collection of experiences that exist nowhere else on earth — from breakfast served on your overwater bungalow deck to swimming with giant manta rays in Bora Bora's lagoon.

Breakfast on Your Overwater Deck
Your morning coffee with the turquoise lagoon beneath your feet and Mount Otemanu rising through the morning mist ahead of you — this is the image people dream about for years before finally making the trip. In Bora Bora, this isn't just a photo — it's your morning routine. Worth every penny.

Swim With Rays & Sharks
Bora Bora's lagoon is home to friendly blacktip reef sharks and graceful stingrays — snorkel or take a guided lagoon tour to swim alongside them in the crystal-clear shallows. One of Bora Bora's most thrilling and surprisingly peaceful experiences.

Lagoon Jet Ski Adventure
Explore Bora Bora's famous lagoon at speed — zipping past overwater bungalows, motus, and snorkel spots on your own jet ski tour. An exhilarating way to see the full breadth of the lagoon and its iconic scenery from the water.

Overwater Spa Rituals
Many Bora Bora and Moorea resorts feature spectacular overwater spa pavilions — receive traditional Polynesian massage treatments with the sound of the lagoon beneath you and fragrant monoi oil scenting the sea breeze. Pure indulgence.

Sunset Dinner on the Beach
French Polynesia's combination of stunning sunsets and world-class French-Polynesian cuisine creates some of the most romantic dining moments on earth — candlelit beachside tables, freshly caught mahi-mahi, and a sky painted in orange and pink over the lagoon.

Bora Bora at Golden Hour
As the sun descends behind Mount Otemanu and the lagoon turns from turquoise to liquid gold — there is no more beautiful sunset on earth. Watch it from your private deck, a sunset cruise, or the resort's overwater bar. Absolutely unforgettable.

Serenity Over the Lagoon
As evening falls over the lagoon, the overwater bungalows glow warm against the fading sky — a moment of pure peace and beauty that only French Polynesia can deliver. This is what paradise actually looks like.

Best Time to Visit Tahiti & Bora Bora
French Polynesia enjoys a tropical climate year-round — but the two seasons offer very different weather, crowd levels, and price points.
French Polynesia's best weather — warm, dry, lower humidity, and calm lagoon conditions ideal for snorkeling, diving, and water activities. July and August are the busiest months. Book 6-12 months in advance for peak dates, especially for overwater bungalows during honeymoon season.
Warmer temperatures with occasional heavy rain and higher humidity — but also significantly lower resort rates. Many days are beautiful and the lagoon is still stunning. December and January see the most rainfall but also some of the best deals of the year for budget-conscious luxury travelers.
